Magzine Cover Analysis

Smart, mature and sophisticated magazine with a simple black and white colour scheme with the idea of royal colour of red (showing dominance.) The central image reflects the consumer of who would read and buy this magazine to find out what this has in store for them. The only thing is doesn't have is it doesn't stand out and grab your attention, needs to be more eye catching. It is not very dynamic, there is not a lot going on and it looks a bit too plain. Maybe it wants to give it simple to keep a form of class and style, otherwise it is a powerful and presentable magazine.

I like this magazine because it poses for all ages due to the vibrant colours appealing to a younger generation, but still keeping a mature house style throughout. One thing which stood out was the graffiti which makes it quite cool. Although the variety of the colour scheme doesn't really match and looks a bit off putting, very busy and looking a bit amateur. Also the way in which the central image overlaps the mast head shows that it is an established magazine and can afford to cover it up and still be recognised by its audience and consumers. Finally i also like the idea of it being an urban magazine, also that theme is represented by the artist as the central image.
This magazine really caught my eye due to the way in which it stands out to me. It looks to be a professional, informative yet entertaining magazine which has been taken seriously. The easy following colour scheme of gold, black, red and white show class and relates to the central image of a world icon, who is also a professional himself, of high status and power. Along with the subtitles, it also has a little snipet of what is going to be in the magazine and other images which is a idea that i quite like. The only thing that I don't find appealing is the solid background, but sometimes it does work by emphasising the image so it stands out and dominates the magazine.
